Young Khalsa News and Events

YKLYoung Khalsa is the Youth wing of the Singapore Khalsa Association (SKA). It was officially inaugurated by Professor S. Jayakumar, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law, in January 1997. Young Khalsa’s objective is to provide a platform for Young Sikhs to meet, interact and network among themselves as well as with other similar ethnic age groups in Singapore. At the same time, it aims to keep the Sikh community abreast of events and development in Singapore as well as to involve Sikhs in the mainstay of Singapore society.

Over the years, activities organised for the Young Khalsa have included:

  1. Dialogue Session with Assoc.Prof Yaacob Ibrahim, Acting Minister for Community Development and Sports and Minister for Muslim Affairs.
  2. Young Khalsa 4-A-Side Professional Football Tournaments.
  3. Dialogue session with Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam Senior Minister of State for Education and Trade and Industry. The topic was ‘The future of Singapore Education’
  4. Dhol lessons - there are two stages for the sessions, the basic and advance stage.
